Recently our German neighbors, Derek and Nicky invited us over to celebrate the new year with a traditional hot wine drink. It's much like a spiced or mulled wine drink which is heated over a fondue flame. On top is a large cone of sugar which is then soaked with rum and lit on fire. It was a treat for the eyes as well as for the tongue. . .
