Cultural Paradigm shift. . .

We were not gone long, but two years in Germany has redefined our paradigms. This shift in vision is subtle, but important. My fear is not that we are different, but that we will lose this difference as we assimilate back into the American culture. There is an ancient Asian curse for the worst of enemies. This curse did not speak for swords to rust or for plagues of disease. What is said is “may you stay in one place forever.” Our time in Germany was indeed a blessing because of the growth that comes with new experiences.
